while driving this morning I was listening to the public broadcasting station... there was this whole segment about bloggers in iran... i guess in iran the government has complete control over the written, televised and broadcast media, but only has a limited control over internet publications...
... the segment progressed to live discussion with several iranian journalists who blog about the realities of the political state of iran... people are really suffering over there... in particular women...
the iranian government literally runs a nation wide internet filter on the word "woman" and any of it's translations or synonyms... can you imagine not being able to google "woman"?
... the whole thing got me thinking about how privileged i am to be able to host a silly little blog about finding metaphorical dinosaurs...
there are people out there dedicating their blog space towards alleviating the evils of the world and empowering the disenfranchised, all while i sit at my computer in hopes of promoting my career.....
who's fucked up for that?
